Keeping busy but not overwhelmed

As predicted, this month has been kind of full-on with various work and family commitments. There have been lots of great moments but no time to blog about them!

This time of year can start to feel pretty overwhelming. I find it helpful to remind myself that if I manage one or two extra tasks each day then all will be fine. As in, everything that needs to be done will get done, and whatever is left undone probably wasn’t earth-shatteringly important anyway.

The Christmas tree will go up this weekend. I’m looking forward to a visit this Sunday to the Discalced Carmelite retreat house to interview a couple of people about a special retreat experience they’re planning for next year.

Also top of mind is the fact that our eldest daughter will be studying for her two final HSC exams next week.

It feels like an end of an era, and I guess that’s what it is. Just as our family had a decade of the kids being born, now starts a decade of them finishing high school.
