Try as I might, I cannot reconcile these two things: First, my deep desire that the law affirm and protect the biological family based upon marriage between a man and woman because I believe that it is the most awesome and important thing that we share as a human race. And second, my equal desire that same-sex couples, in particular, who are doing their best to raise young children are affirmed and supported in such a way that they actually feel affirmed and supported.
